“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
According to the Centers for Disease Control 1 in 88 children has autism. It’s 5 times more common with boys (1 in 54) than girls (1 in 252).
Songs for Autism was created to bring compassion and awareness to the issues faced by families affected by autism. The songs were created through a storyboard session with a group of 15 parents and five songwriters. Parents shared stories of what it’s like raising a child with autism and through the conversations ideas for songs began to emerge.
There were lots of tears and laughter shared, and after the session the songwriters left with lots of notes and inspiration to work on creating songs. We know there are lots of websites with facts about autism; our goal was to use music to show its human perspective.
After several months of collaboration these songs emerged. We hope they inspire compassion and support for families living with autism.
If you’re with a nonprofit that works to help people with autism, you can get a web store just like the one below and use these songs to inspire support for your organization. Join the campaign! Get more details…
